Which Japanese electric toothbrushes work in Thailand?

As of 2026-10-24, we checked 20 electric toothbrushes sold in Japan. In Thailand (220V, 50Hz, Type A/B outlets): 18 work as is, 2 will not work.

Voltage 220V · Frequency 50Hz · Outlets Type A/B — Outlet types in Thailand vary. Most are universal outlets that take both Type A flat pins and Type C round pins, so Japanese Type A plugs usually fit. Newer Type O (three round pins) outlets do not, so some outlets need a plug adapter.

Needs an accessory (0)

None.

Will not work (2)

Reasons:

  • Voltage not compatible: the rated voltage doesn't cover the local voltage (e.g. a Japan-only 100V model on 200–240V will burn out); transformers are not recommended for high-wattage appliances (2)
