Where to shop in Tokyo and Osaka: what to buy in Akihabara, Shinjuku, Ginza, Shibuya, Umeda and Namba/Shinsaibashi

Based on the stores we list (as of October 2026): in Tokyo, go to Akihabara (Yodobashi Camera Multimedia Akiba, Bic Camera AKIBA), Shinjuku (Bic Camera, Yodobashi and Yamada Denki LABI around the east and west exits) or Yurakucho (Bic Camera Yurakucho, next to Ginza) for electronics; 24-hour Don Quijote stores in Shinjuku, Shibuya and Ginza for drugstore items and snacks; and @cosme TOKYO in Harajuku for cosmetics. In Osaka, Umeda has Yodobashi Camera Multimedia Umeda, Hankyu Umeda Main Store and @cosme OSAKA; the Namba, Shinsaibashi and Dotonbori area has Bic Camera, EDION, Daikoku Drug, Takashimaya, Daimaru and Don Quijote Dotonbori. From November 1, 2026, every store switches to paying the tax-included price and getting the tax refunded after you leave Japan.

Department-store cosmetics and souvenir sweets: department stores such as Hankyu Umeda Main Store, Takashimaya Osaka and Daimaru Shinsaibashi; for cosmetics multi-brand stores, @cosme TOKYO in Harajuku and @cosme OSAKA in Umeda.
