"Self Tax Refund" kiosks: Haneda T2 international 3F after departure (6:45–1:30 next day), Haneda T3 3F after departure (24 hours), Narita T1 Central Building 4F before departure (6:00–24:00), Narita T2 Main Building 3F before departure (6:00–24:00), and Naha Airport; Cash Japan refund service at Kansai and Kobe airports

Japan Airport Terminal and GLORY: from November 1, "Self Tax Refund" cash refund kiosks start at Haneda, Narita and Naha airports (cash in about a minute). At Haneda, eligibility is checked before departure and the cash is collected after departure; terminal locations vary by airport. Each tax-free shop decides its refund methods (credit card, cashless payments, cash). Kansai and Kobe airports will start a Cash Japan refund service. Haneda FAQ: locations of the customs terminals and self-refund kiosks will be "released shortly".

Haneda arrival duty-free shop: exempt from customs duties, liquor tax, tobacco tax and consumption tax (alcohol and tobacco only). National Tax Agency: tax-free shops in town are not the duty-free shops in the airport departure area.
